 Excellent for small to medium size room...Apr 21, 2008
Bought this for under $130, and hooked it up to my xbox 360 and LCD TV. I used the digital optical cables for both my 360 and comcast HD box. I'd say it makes a noticeable difference. It thumps my entire condo (1 bed/1bath).
The best settings, I think, are on Game mode and having the side speakers positioned for Surround Sound. LOTS of options for distance, bass, treble, midnight mode, etc.
The PROs: Excellent quality for the price. Doesn't compare to the clarity of Bose obviously, but impressive audio once set to proper settings for your home. Xbox games sound AMAZING on it. Easy set up, just a little time consuming. Very classy looking, blends right in with Xbox 360.
The CONs: There are feet and feet of unused wires for me. it takes up lots of room (unused wires).
Highly recommendable to those with tighter budget, medium to small room, and xbox 360.

this surround sound system is great. has plenty of hook-ups so your not just limited to the 360. its exactly what i was looking for (an entry level surround sound system) and i couldn;t be happier.

If you have an Xbox 360 and a medium size room, this is a great deal. The integration w/ Xbox is convenient, often I can controller everything w/ just the (admittedly huge) Pioneer remote. There are four inputs: Xbox 360, a couple more digital inputs (one coax and one optical), and an analog input. It even comes w/ a radio tuner. The sound is perfect for our 13'x15' room.
W/ shipping it was about $150... well worth it!
HTS-GS1 - great for the $$Feb 16, 2008
The HTS-GS1 is a great value for 5.1 Home Theater System. With Dolby Digital and DTS pass through, it can handle most audio formats for enjoying movies and video games. I am using the HTS for my family room setup connecting my cable converter box and PS3 using the optical connections.
Everything works fine on initial setup. Be sure to use the MCACC upon initial setup to calibrate the speakers to the room environment.
The cool feature about this HTS is the control panel is small in profile as the rest of the receiver components are integrated into the subwoofer. I did not mind the white color on the control panel as it sits next to my Wii. Otherwise, it may look out of place.
Overall, it is a good little system for $120. Get it while supplies last. [...]

This is an awesome product guys, and an even better seller! Great product, fast shipping, and very cheap for everything you get plus the performance of the unit! I have my XBox 360 hooked up in HD plus the Digital Audio jacks in the unit, plus I have my HD TV hooked up with the Digital Audio and they both sound amazing! I have had three different Surround Sound units and this blows all of them out of the water!
